Upper Ballaird Farm Coop is helping to rebuild local food economies

We believe that changing the way we produce and distribute food is fundamental to solving the world’s most pressing social and ecological problems.

About Upper Ballaird Farm Coop

We are a workers co-operative based on Upper Ballaird Farm, a smallholding of 9+ hectares betwen Balfron and Buchlyvie in Stirlingshire. We are a not-for-profit enterprise, doing business to pay fair wages to our co-op members whilst also benefiting people in Stirlingshire. Environmental concerns are core to how we operate and attempt to produce goods and services in ways that capture carbon on site and creates habitat for an increasingly diverse range of wildlife.

Fair prices for farmers and artisan food producers is vital

We pay our suppliers at least 50% of the retail value for any products we buy in, and when dealing with wholesalers, we check to make sure they pay fair prices to their growers.
